An Overview of the Bible

Overview of The Bible

Section 1:

The Bible Tells One Unified Story From Beginning to End

.

7 Main Points Testify to It’s Unity

overviewofthebible7mainpointsofunity

1) From the Book of Genesis the Bible bears witness to one God. Wherever he speaks or acts he is consistent with himself, and with the total revelation of who He is.

2) The Bible forms one continuous story — the story of how humanity relates to God.

3) The Bible makes the most unlikely predictions concerning the future, and, when the centuries have brought round the appointed time, records their fulfillment.

4) The Bible is a progressive unfolding of truth. Nothing is told all at once. The law is, “first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn.” Without the possibility of collusion, often with centuries between, one writer of Scripture takes up an earlier revelation, adds to it, lays down the pen, and in due time another man moved by the Holy Spirit, and another, and another, add new details till the whole is complete.

5) From beginning to end the Bible testifies to one redemption.

6) From beginning to end the Bible has one great theme — the person and work of the Christ.

7) And, finally, these writers, some forty in number, writing through fifteen centuries, have produced a perfect harmony of doctrine in progressive unfolding. This is, to every candid mind, the unanswerable proof of the divine inspiration of the Bible.

Section 2:

The Bible is Many Books Compiled Into One Book

.

There are 5 Great Divisions with Christ at the Center

Speaking broadly there are five great divisions in the Scriptures, Christ being the one great theme (Luke 24:25-27).

In other words, the Old Testament is the preparation for Christ.

In the Gospels he is manifested to the world.

In the Acts he is preached.

In the Epistles his Gospel is explained.

In the Book of Revelation all the purposes of God in and through Christ are consummated.

divider1

The Old Testament Sub Groups

These Major Groups Also Fall into Sub-groups

This is especially true of the Old Testament, where there are four well defined groups:

.

REDEMPTION

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy

.

ORGANIZATION

Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther

.

POETRY

Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon

.

SERMONS

Lamentations, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi

                                                                            divider1

Redemption – Genesis is the book of beginnings, and explains the origin of Israel.

Exodus tells the story of the deliverance of Israel.

Leviticus of the worship of Israel as delivered people.

Numbers the wanderings and failures of the delivered people.

Deuteronomy warns and instructs that people in view of their approaching entrance upon their inheritance.

Organization – The Books of Organization tell of Israel’s development from 12 nomadic Tribes into an established Nation with a fully functioning governmental system of Laws and a cohesive societal structure.

A true force among the Gentile Nations with a God to be feared who protected and defended them in times of crises.

Poetry – The Poetical books record the spiritual experiences of the redeemed people in the varied scenes and events through which the providence of God led them.

Sermons – The prophets were inspired preachers, and the prophetical books consist of sermons with brief connecting and explanatory passages. Two prophetical books, Ezekiel and Daniel, have a different character and are apocalyptic, largely.

divider1

Section 3:

The Bible Tells the Story of the Human Family

Beginning with the creation of the earth and man, the story of the first human pair continues through the first eleven chapters of Genesis.

With the twelfth chapter begins the history of Abraham and of the nation of which Abraham was the ancestor. It is that nation, Israel, with which the Bible narrative is mainly concerned with from the eleventh chapter of Genesis to the second chapter of the Acts of the Apostles.

The Gentiles are mentioned, but only in connection with Israel. But it is made increasingly clear that Israel fills the scene only because they are entrusted with the accomplishment of great world-wide purposes (Deuteronomy 7:7-8).

divider1

Israel’s Appointed Mission

1) To be a witness to the unity of God in the midst of idolatry (Deuteronomy 6:5 ; Isaiah 43:10

2) To illustrate to the nations the greater blessedness of serving the one true living God

(Deuteronomy 33:26-29 ; 1st Chronicles 17:20-21 ; Psalms 102:15

3) To receive and preserve the Divine revelation (Romans 3:1-2)

4) To produce the Messiah, earth’s Savior and Lord (Romans 9:4). The prophets foretell a glorious future for Israel under the reign of Christ.

 divider1

Section 4:

The Central Theme of the Bible is Jesus Christ

It is Jesus Christ — “God manifest in the flesh” (1st Timothy 3:16) — his sacrificial death, and his resurrection, which make up the Gospel.

All earlier Scripture points forward to Him – All later Scriptures point back at Him.

The Gospel is preached in the book of Acts and explained in the Epistles.

Christ, the Son of God, Son of man, Son of Abraham and Son of David, thus binds the many books into One Book.

 divider1

The Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ

 .

As the Seed of the woman (Genesis 3:15) he is the ultimate destroyer of Satan and his works.

As Abraham’s Seed he is the Blesser of the world.

As the Seed of David he is Israel’s King. The “Desire of all Nations.”

He is exalted to the right hand of God and is head over all things to the Church, which is his body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.

Meanwhile the Church looks for the fulfillment of his special promise: “I will come again and receive you unto myself” (John 14:1-3)

Thus we have an overview of the Bible the divinely inspired word of God!

Understanding The Holy Trinity

Understanding The Holy Trinity

holytrinity

The Hebrew word ‘Elohiym’ is the most commonly translated word for God in the Old Testament and is the plural form of the word “Eloah.”

.

Being plural obviously means that it’s referring to more than one. Yet, at the same time it’s only referring to ONE GOD, not two or three… Just one God!

This being so and the scriptures plainly say that there is only one God, “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD,” (Deut.6:4) then, it’s reasonable to deduce that if He’s referred to in the plural but He’s only ONE BEING, His fundamental structure must be inherently plural, i.e. He is one corporate Entity comprising different persons!

Sounds reasonable but do the Holy Scriptures (God’s revelation of Himself) support this? Can we reference this “composite structure” from the Bible? Let’s check it out and see.

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

“There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, The Word and the Holy Ghost and these three are one.” (1st John 5:7)

.

Phil. 2:11 declares that the Father is God; “to the glory of God the Father.

“Heb. 1:8 declares that the Son is God, “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.”

Acts 5:3, 4 declare that the Holy Spirit is God, “why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost” ” thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.”

.

Yet the scriptures boldly declare that there is only ONE GOD (Mk 12:29, 32)

God is one Corporate Entity comprised of and eternally existing as three distinct persons.

The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit! The bible refers to this as the Godhead! (Acts 17:29) We, Christians say the “Holy Trinity.”

The Doctrine of The Holy Trinity

.

Even though the word “Trinity” is not found in scripture the Doctrine of the Trinity is found from Genesis to Revelation.

If the Doctrine of The Trinity is not true then what will you do with 1st John 5:7? Throw it out of the Bible?

Of course, you can always choose to believe the corrupted versions that have taken this verse out in an attempt to attack the deity of Jesus Christ.

And whom was God speaking with in Genesis when He said “Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness?” God obviously has a plural nature, that’s why He made man with a plural nature like Himself.

.

Man is spirit, soul and body – God is Father, Word and Holy Spirit. Like Father, like son! If we are made in HIS image and we are tri-partite in nature then isn’t it reasonable to deduce that He is tri-partite in nature also, Three in One and One in Three?

.

There is a little known verse in the book of Isaiah that sheds some light on this issue. Isaiah 48:16 says, “Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.”

First, let’s establish who is speaking. The person speaking is clearly claiming divinity when he says, “From the time that it was, there am I.” The phrase, “there am I” in reference to “the beginning” says that this person is Eternal in nature and of course, only God is Eternal.

So, God is speaking but in the last phrase He says, “The Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.” If God is not a Trinity then my friends you have yourselves the puzzle of the ages because the only way this verse makes sense is if God the Word is saying that God the Father and God the Holy Spirit sent Him to be the Savior of the world, which is exactly what He’s saying.

It’s very clear because first, the speaker identified Himself as God; next he said that God AND God’s Spirit had sent Him. Notice carefully, He made God and His Spirit Equals when He said He was sent by BOTH of them together (equally).

In effect the Speaker is saying, I am God; the Lord is God and the Spirit is God; referring to God the Son, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, respectively.

My friends, if you truthfully look for the Doctrine of the Trinity I believe you will find it both in the Old and New Testaments!

The Different Offices of The Trinity

.

What are the Offices of the Trinity?

Even though the Trinity is One Entity or Being, each of the three Persons has a different Office or Primary Function which when integrated with the others makes for one harmoniously functioning Unit.

.

The Godhead or Holy Trinity works like this. The Father initiates a thing, The Word produces that thing and The Spirit activates it!

.

These are the respective offices of The Father, The Word and The Holy Spirit, to inspire, to produce, to activate. In salvation for instance, The Father initiated your salvation from eternity before the world began, Eph 1:4-5.

The Word produced your salvation by first becoming human and showing Himself to be the Son of God and the Son of man, (John 1:14) secondly, by offering Himself in death, burial and resurrection, 1Cor 15:3-4.

.

The Holy Spirit activated your salvation by:

.

(1) Convicting you of sin, John 16:8.
(2) Releasing the grace of God for you to receive the gospel and the faith of God for you to believe the gospel, Eph 2:8
(3) Breaking open the God-Seed so that the life of God can flow out into your spirit, John 3:6
(4) Fulfilling every attribute of salvation in you, 1Co 6:11!
These are the offices of The Godhead or The Trinity in the process of salvation and they work like this in every other area of creation.

Abortion: Is it Really the Best Choice?

KLN Header

Abortion: Is it Really the Best Choice?

Mother and daughter at the sea

Have you ever wondered what the door was?

Satan tried to rule the earth without a physical body and Jesus called him a robber and a thief! John 10:1

But in referring to Himself, Jesus said, “… He that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep,” John 10:2

So, have you ever wondered what that door was?

In the natural sense a door is the legal means of entry into a restricted area.

The earth is a restricted area; it was created by God and is still owned by Him. It’s His private property! So if one wants to come from the spirit realm and enter in and operate legally in the earth realm, he needs to have legal access! He needs to go through the door!

The door to the earth (legal access) is being born of a woman and possessing a physical body!

puzzle in business hand

Anyone who tries to operate on earth without a physical body is trespassing and guilty of sinning against God! Jesus said, “…Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me,” Heb 10:5

Jesus accessed the earth and the people of the earth (the sheepfold and the sheep) legally, by being born of a woman… Satan did not!

Jesus is the authorized shepherd of the sheep… Satan is not!!!

Why is the chief end of a demon always to possess a human body? Because they are spirits without bodies and they need to possess a body in order to operate more effectively in the earth!

Still illegally… but more effectively!

When a demon inhabits a person’s body he has limited authority through that person because he’s now operating through a physical body, but a man or woman of God who comes in the name (authority) of Jesus Christ ALWAYS has superior authority over any demon!

Your physical body is the symbol of your authority in the earth! Not your spirit, not your soul… your body!
familytrans
That’s why as a rule, when your body dies, you cease to affect the earth! You still have your spirit and soul, why can’t you still continue to affect life? Because you have no authority to affect the earth without a body!

You have no authority to affect life from death!

The incident involving the prophet Samuel, King Saul and the witch of Endor is one notable exception to this rule! Another exception is when Moses and Elijah counseled Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration! But that’s why you do have authority over demons, they are spirits without physical bodies, therefore they have no authority in the earth!

Because you were born of a woman you can command them! They cannot command you! The only reason demons can control some humans is because they are deceived into giving up their authority to these demons and allowing them access to manipulate their will!

The fundamental reason why Jesus’ name has authority in the earth is because… he came in the flesh!!! If He had stayed in heaven, none of the authority we have in His name would be possible! In the bible, God was only able to promise change until He got Himself a body!

Promises like, “Behold, a virgin shall conceive…!” “For unto you a child is born…!” “The seed of the woman shall…!”

From Genesis to Malachi God was promising change, but the only time we actually saw change is when He finally got a physical body and came to earth!
good_friday_1000004511-120613int
Why do you think every time God was about to perform some major move in the earth, Satan was always trying to kill the babies? He tried to kill both Moses and Jesus, the mediators of the old and new covenants, respectively, through legalized infanticide!

It’s because God can only change things in the earth through someone who has a physical body! That’s why man’s primary command from God in the beginning was to be fruitful and multiply!

The more people born, the more vessels He could work through to demonstrate His authority and bring to pass His purpose!

This is why barrenness is described as a curse and fruitfulness is a blessing in the bible!

A woman was designed to bring forth children who would become instruments of change in the earth, so if she is barren, then she’s no longer a channel through which God can bring instruments of change! No child can be born of her… no instrument of change can come to earth!

In our present age there are so many homeless, parentless children I believe God may allow some couples not to produce their own children just so they could rescue some child or children who have no parents of their own.

If you’re not able to produce children maybe, just maybe, God is speaking to you about adoption. Why not rescue a child who needs you and the love you have to give?

This doctrine of the authority of the physical body in the earth also directly affects the issue of abortion and shows why it’s wrong!
couplebaby
God’s modus operandi for enhancing life on earth is to inspire human beings to excellence so abortion limits God’s ability to expedite His will in the earth!

He said, “If you humble yourselves and pray I will… If you bind on earth I will…”

God needs someone with a physical body who is born of a woman to be the instrument that He works through to effect change in our lives!

“I looked for someone to defend the city and to protect it from my anger, as well as to stop me from destroying it. But I found no one. So in my fierce anger, I will punish the Israelites for what they have done, and they will know that I am furious. I, the Lord, have spoken,” Eze 22:30-31 (CEV)

This is why He commands us to pray. We authorize and legalize His interventions in our lives through prayer. When we speak… we release Him to act!

With millions of unborn children slaughtered daily, we are short-circuiting the very blessings God has planned for us as a race.

How many inspired world-leaders, great inventors, gifted artists and talented scientists are being ripped out of their mother’s wombs and murdered on a table in the name of convenience?

And still, we have the audacity to ask God, why is this world in such a mess? I’ll tell you why!

Because, by a process of institutionalized infanticide, we are eliminating the very people God has been sending to earth to bless us and enhance the quality of our lives!

Mass abortion retards the development of our global society and short-circuits our collective potential!
motherandbaby
Every human being is a catalyst for someone else’s genius.

Part of your purpose is to bring out the best in someone else! Someone you may never know or meet!

The philosophical works of Plato and Aristotle were built upon the foundational principles laid by Socrates.

In the 1960’s, Dr. Martin Luther King’s non-violent revolution, which changed the face of America forever, was greatly influenced by the Indian revolution led by Mahatma Ghandi in the 1940’s.

In the 17th century Galileo’s understanding of the universe, based on his extensive research in Physics and Astronomy, was seeded by Copernicus’ work published 100 years earlier in De Revolutionibus. And even this great publication was influenced by the propositions and discussions of Archimedes and Aristarchus in the third century BC.

Today, our brightest scientific minds in contemporary medicine still reference Louis Pasteur’s phenomenal discovery, “the germ theory of disease” made almost two centuries ago.

Now, imagine living in a world without all these men and their discoveries! What if all these children had been victims of abortion?

EACH OF THESE MEN HAD A MOTHER WHO HAD A CHOICE!

girlhalfface
Every one of these men was once a mass of cells in some woman’s uterus! What if she had decided to abort?

What if Susanna Fontanarossa had decided she was too young or too poor to have another child and had an abortion? Then, Christopher Columbus would not have re-discovered the most powerful nation on earth! What kind of world would we be living in today without America as we know it?

Whom are you carrying in your womb?

YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

You have been chosen to bare a special gift to humanity. To snuff out that life is a crime against the human race and a sin against God!

The psychological and emotional scars stay with you for a very long time and the memories… forever! It’s something you can NEVER undo!

Someone once said, “Abortion doesn’t make you unpregnant… It makes you the parent of a dead child.”

Please consider life for your child.

A Tale of 3 Gardens

A Tale of 3 Gardens

eveapple

“Uhhmmm… That looks gooood,” she thinks, as she stands in the midst of the Garden.

She stares at it longingly with a glazed look in her eye. Her pulse races as she reaches up a trembling hand and touches it. Eyes darting from side to side – She’s unobserved.

Her heart is hammering now as she pulls on it until it separates from the branch.

She’s done it!

Mouth watering as she looks at it and just for the most flickering of moments there’s a sadness that washes through her soul. “Can’t worry about that now, this is what I’ve been dreaming about ever since that first suggestion,” the thought caresses her conscience and lulls it to sleep.

“He’s not far away; I think I’ll share this with him.

“Oh, there he is.” She hurries to him.

“Look honey!” She bites into it, juice dripping down her hand as her eyes widen with wild delight and frightening realization.

“NOOOO! What have you done?” He screams at her. “Are you insane? Don’t you know what’ll happen to you now?”

He’s faced with a dilemma.

“She’ll be destroyed,” he thinks to himself. “I’ve got to do something! OH GOD! How could I have let this happen?”

“It’s my fault.”

“I know what I have to do.” In desperation he thinks, “I’ll eat it too, I know HE won’t destroy both of us! HE’LL have to save us both.”

He takes it from her outstretched hand and bites into pleasure and terror all at once!

It’s silent in the Garden now. Stillness makes her home there and Death is a permanent guest.

Omniscient, HE knows exactly what’s taken place. HE walks in the Garden just like before, but they don’t come running, no smiling faces… Silence.

HE calls them; they come kneeling, trembling, undone. “What did you do,” HE demands of him. “I’m sorry, I knew it was wrong, but it’s the One that YOU gave me, I did it for HER!”

~~~~~
“Uhhhhhhh… This pain is unbearable,” He thinks, as He kneels in the midst of the Garden!
He’s alone, His mind races forward to the ordeal ahead. He understands the purpose and knows it MUST be done.
He sees the whip, the nails and the tree. Beholds the blood, the sweat and tears. He hears the cursing, taunting, threats. Misery weighs heavy on His soul.
He goes to where His friends are for some support, some strength, some comfort, something. Nothing… They’re asleep.
He returns, kneels, bows, “OH GOD… PLEASE LET THIS CUP PASS!!!” HE bleeds a prayer to God.
But then remembers the state She’s in. “SHE NEEDS ME, needs a Savior. Only I can do this.”
“Nevertheless, as YOU will, Father,” He breathes a prayer to God.
He surrenders, “I’ll do it for HER!”
~~~~~

“Ohhhhhhh… Where have they taken You, My Lord,” she wonders, as she stands in the midst of the Garden.

Heart aching with love for her Lord who was and is not, no longer a comforting touch, a smile or word in due season.

“Why did You leave, why did You have to go away?” She sobs.

She goes and tells them. They run and come to see. He’s not there! “Where is He?” They leave wondering. She stays and looks and sees… Angels!

Then, He who was hidden appears. “Why do you cry?” His words are soft and scented.

She pleads with him, “Where is He, where have you taken Him?”

“Mary,” says He, and she knows.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, the light of revelation dawns within and she begins to understand everything.

“He left for me that’s the reason why
He did it all for me, that’s why He died
Every drop of blood, every lash of pain
Was felt for me so that I could gain
What I lost in that Garden that fateful morn’
My joy, my peace, my life all gone
When I did what I did and my eyes did see
My fallen state and what became of me
How I hurt Him so, you’ve got to know
That’s why we reap the deeds we sow
But He’s kept His promise for all to see
The Seed of the woman brings victory!
So, from now on and through eternity
I’ll thank God for what He did for me.
“He did it all for me!”

Who is Jesus Christ? A Business Perspective

Is Jesus the Greatest Network Marketer who Ever Lived?

jesus-as-a-businessman

Jesus Christ is the greatest Network Marketer who ever walked the Earth!

He had an amazingly unique service that He wanted to offer to the public and He wanted the most effective way to market that service so He chose Word of Mouth Marketing, more commonly called Network Marketing.

This unique service He was offering to the world was nothing less than permanent Citizenship in The Kingdom of God and He had a limited time frame to work within – Just 3 1/2 years!

He decided to train His top 12 Distributors and make them perfectly ready to duplicate the system that He invented and perfected.

He invested 3 ½ years of His life teaching, training and mentoring these 12 Disciples through parables, preaching and prophecy.

He poured everything He had into making them ready to duplicate themselves into their own team of Distributors when the time was ripe.

Training & Mentoring System

He knew that He didn’t have much time with them so He set up a Training and Mentoring System which He left behind to continue His work after He left.

He left His personal Success Manual and Private Mentor behind to carry on the work He started with His 12 top Distributors and any other Affiliates that would consequently be recruited through their efforts.

The Success Manual called, The Bible contains the answers to all the most important questions that any Distributor will ever ask and the Personal Mentor, The Holy Spirit is so in-tuned with the intimate needs of each Distributor that He even anticipates your needs and helps you to ask the right questions to get the right answers.

Not only this but He also empowers you for success by transforming you on the inside to become more and more like the Original Network Marketer everyday you live and submit yourself to His mentoring.

Jesus’ Network Marketing System was so powerful that after training just 12 Distributors and turning them loose, 3,000 Prospects were recruited the very first time they presented their opportunity to the public.

jesus-in-suit

First Opportunity Meeting

On the Day of Pentecost, Jesus’ Top Distributor, Peter stood up and made his first presentation and 3,000 people from all walks of life responded to the opportunity and became Citizens of the Kingdom of God!

Many more Opportunity Meetings were held on a daily basis all over Jerusalem and Judea and subsequently many more thousands were added to the Kingdom of God.

The message of the Kingdom grew and grew until it spread throughout the entire world and so today some 2,000 years later one billion people world-wide are affiliated with the original concept first taught and presented by Jesus.

I know for a fact that not everyone of these people are true believers, not all of them are bona fide Citizens of the Kingdom of God, even Jesus Himself said that this would happen.

He called them Goats and Sheep or Tares and Wheat and said they would grow together but they would be separated at the end of time.

The point is that Jesus’ Network Marketing System is so powerful, so effective that after training just 12 Distributors and turning them loose, today fully one sixth of the earth’s population is affiliated in some way with His original message and concept of the Kingdom of God.

Who is Jesus Christ?

Simply, the Greatest Network Marketer who ever lived!
